Georgian President Did Not Sign Package Of Bills “On Family Values”

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili did not sign a package of bills “On family values and the protection of minors” and returned it to parliament. This was reported by Georgian media.

It is noted that Salome Zurabishvili not only did not sign the bill, but did not apply a veto on it. Thus, in parliamentary discussions there is no longer any need, and the package will be signed by the chairman of the parliament.

Law “On family values and the protection of minors” was approved by the parliament of Georgia in the third reading and unanimously adopted by the majority – 84 votes.

The legislative package consists of 19 bills. The main one is the project “On family values and the protection of minors”, and the remaining 18 are bills arising from it. The purpose of the law is to strengthen family values based on the union of men and women, as well as minors protecting mechanisms.

In particular, the document provides for a ban on registering any relationship, except for the Union between a man and a woman, as well as any medical manipulations for the change of sex.
