Georgian Prime Minister Said “impressive” Victory Of Ruling Party In Election

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze called the “impressive” victory of the ruling party in the parliamentary elections last on the eve of the day before.

The head of the Georgian government recalled that, according to preliminary data from the CEC, the ruling party “Georgian Dream” won the election.

The Georgian people made a choice in favor of peace and development, Kobahidze said in the office of the Georgian Dream in Tbilisi. “These were very important elections for our country, which was resolved by the issue of preserving peace in our country. The Georgian people made the only non -alternative choice – they chose the world and development of the country, a bright, European future,” the politician said.

Kobahidze attracted attention to the fact that the Georgian Dream received five times more votes than the opposition party, which gained the largest number of votes. “Our victory is very impressive. We have the difference with the party occupying the second place is 43 percent,” added Georgian Prime Minister.

“Georgian Dream” secured the support of 54 percent of voters

According to the CEC of Georgia, after the parliamentary elections in the country, 99.64 percent of the URN for voting were opened.

“Georgian Dream” received 54.08 percent of votes, the “Coalition for Changes” secured the support of 10.12 percent of votes.

The party “Unity for the sake of saving Georgia” voted 10.12 percent of voters, for “strong Georgia” – 8.78 percent and a party “for Georgia” – Gakharia – 7.76 percent of voters.

Some electoral blocks that overcome the 5-percent barrier necessary for passing to parliament, and the most votes after the ruling party “Georgian Dream” did not agree with the results of the vote.

The Electoral Bloc “Unity for the Save of Georgia”, created under the leadership of the “Unified National Movement”, the main opposition party, founded by former President Mikhail Saakashvili, who is in custody in Georgia, as well as the “Coalition for Changes” said that they did not recognize the results elections.
