Germany and France refuse to accept Putin’s conditions

Berlin and Paris are preparing a plan for termination of gas supplies from Russia, the Minister of Finance of France Bruno Le Mayor reported. According to him, countries will not accept the conditions for the translation of contracts in rubles. The head of the Ministry of Economy of Germany Robert Habek said that Berlin would not give himself to blackmail on this issue.

“We will not agree to pay gas in another currency, in addition to the contract specified in the conclusion. Contracts concluded in euros should be paid in the euro,” said the French minister at a press conference, it quotes TASS.

Habek reported that he had not yet familiarized himself with the new decree of the President of Russia on the transfer of contracts in rubles. According to him, Germany is ready for all scenarios, including termination of deliveries from Russia, reports Reuters.

Earlier on Thursday, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on gas trading with “unfriendly countries” for rubles. New rules for selling gas will begin to act from April 1st.
