Germany announced additional supplies of weapons to Ukraine. In particular, Berlin promises to send the APU tanks from Greece and Slovakia, reports CNN.
The additional package of military assistance for Ukraine was announced by German defense Minister Kristina Lambrecht while visiting German troops deployed in Lithuania. She promised that Ukraine would receive the IRIS-T air defense system and, in total, 100 tanks from Greece and Slovakia.
In addition, Lambrecht noted that NATO countries need to work on strengthening their defense. The minister added that Germany will also create a new armored infantry brigade in the face of an increased threat of security, which can be quickly transferred to Lithuania if necessary.
