Germany agreed on the supply of liquefied gas from the UAE. The relevant agreement was signed during the visit of Chancellor Olaf Sholts to Abu Dhabi as part of the Tour of the Persian Gulf countries.
It is assumed that tankers will begin to supply fuel to the Brunzbuttel terminal on the coast of the North Sea since the end of this year.
According to Sholts, to abandon Russian energy and ensure Germany’s safety, Berlin intends to further expand the list of alternative suppliers.
“We are going to go the most reasonable way, namely, to concentrate on cooperation with many regions. This will allow us to ensure the supply of energy resources. And so that we depend on one supplier and on its decisions – this will definitely not happen again”.
