Minister of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany Robert Habek during his visit to Qatar agreed on cooperation in the energy sector, providing for the supply of liquefied natural gas in Germany, said Welt TV channel.
The Minister discussed the exact volumes and time of delivery, but did not lead details. According to him, the German authorities do not plan to completely replace raw materials from Russia supplies from Qatar.
“We need a diversification, which means: one country or one region does not replace another,” he said.
until February 24 – the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine – more than 50% of gas consumed in Germany came from Russia. In the future, Germany wants to make it so that every region, which suppresses the raw material, accounted for no more than 20% of imports. Then, because of the force majeure, delivery from one region can be replaced quickly and without loss.
