Germany thought about buying an Iron Dome

German Chancellor Olaf Sholts is considering the possibility of buying an Iron Dome for Germany, writes Bild.

According to the publication, for this purpose, Scholts approved a special fund of 100 billion euros intended for defense events. Only for Germany there is one significant drawback of the system – it intercepts missiles with a flight range of up to 70 km. This means that the source of fire should be in the territory of Germany itself.

However, the publication notes that there is a similar alternative system – Arrow 3 (“Arrow 3”). This is a hypersonic rocket worth $ 1 million, which is developed and produced by Israel and the USA. According to the manufacturer, this complex can intercept a nuclear missile at a distance of up to 2000 km- even outside the atmosphere in space.
