Germany Will Assist Moldova In Strengthening Non -lethal Military Potential

The Republic of Moldova will use the German Government Program to equip the foreign armed forces.

Members of the Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved on Thursday, September 19, the beginning of negotiations on the relevant agreement between the governments of Moldova and Germany, Moldipers reports.

The program is designed to strengthen the non-lethal military potential of partner states, as well as promote peace and security at both the national and regional levels.

It will affect several projects for Moldova, including the preparation and equipping of mobile military equipment, UAVs and modernization of medical offices.

The National Army will also be built the maintenance center, some premises for storage of ammunition will be repaired, a single IT network has been created.

The program does not provide for the supply of weapons and ammunition, as well as constant training.

as part of the program, the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for financing projects, and the German Ministry of Defense – for the placement of advisory groups.

Cooperation between Moldova and Germany in the military sector began in 2003. Earlier, the German government established a program of counseling, training and assistance to equipment for the foreign armed forces, designed to support the development of the military potential of partner states.
