Ghana strives for the further development of bilateral relations with Turkey in all directions. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ghana Samuel Okazeto Ablakva.
As part of the diplomatic visit, the Turkish Ambassador to the Accra Housin Gungor met with the new head of the Gan Foreign Ministry.
During the negotiations that took place in a friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed plans to increase trade between Turkey and Ghana to $ 1 billion.
Minister Ablakva drew attention to the fact that the third terminal of Kotok International Airport in Accra was built by a Turkish company.
The head of the diplomatic mission noted the contribution of Turkey to the development of Ghana through the private sector and non -governmental organizations.
In addition, the Foreign Minister emphasized that bilateral cooperation should expand in various fields.
Ablakva also expressed gratitude for the program “Turkish scholarships”, noting that the country highly appreciates the support of Turkey in the field of education.
Currently, about 800 Turkish companies are functioning in Ghana, and Turkish Airlines operates 10 flights per week in the country.
Ghana’s economy is actively investing in Turkish companies as Yılport, Aksa and Karadeniz Holding.
Ghana, one of the most stable economies of West Africa, remains a key partner in Turkey in the region, providing ample opportunities for trade and investment.
