Goebeklitep: New Conditions For Tourists Are Created

In the ancient Goebeklitep complex, which is called the “zero point of history report”, work is underway to build a new center for receiving visitors, pedestrian paths and parking.

The complex, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is located in the Khalil region 18 km from the center of Turkish Chanlyurf.

Goebeklitepe, which was discovered in 1963 during research, is one of the main attractions for both local and foreign tourists.

An annual archaeological monument is visited by about a million people.

In this regard, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey is implementing a project to create new walking routes around Goebeklitepa.

Also at a distance of about 2 km from the complex, a new center for receiving visitors and parking is being built. Work is planned to be completed during the year.

Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Province of Chanlyurf Aydin Aslan said that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism takes all the necessary measures to create comfortable conditions for visitors.

“At the end of 2024, we began the construction of a new center for receiving visitors with parking for 500 cars, 50 bus stops, caravan zones, charging stations for electric vehicles, new roads, waiting zones and landscaping. There are also work on the creation of new pedestrian routes, ”Aslan recalled.
