Great Britain: Ukraine Is On An Irreversible Way To Join NATO

British Prime Minister Kir Starkmer said that Ukraine is on an irreversible way to join NATO, London is committed to its obligations in this regard.

According to the written application made by the office of Prime Minister number 10, Starmer talked on the phone with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on February 14.

Starkmer emphasized that the UK will continue to provide specific support to Ukraine as long as it needs it.

According to him, any negotiations in Ukraine cannot be carried out without the participation of Kyiv. Starmer noted that Ukraine needs reliable security guarantees, additional military assistance and a sovereign future.

The Prime Minister confirmed the commitment of the “irreversible path of Ukraine to access to NATO”, which the allies agreed at the NATO summit in Washington last year.

In connection with the approach of the 3rd anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war, leaders recognized the importance of this date for international unity and support of Ukraine.

The parties also discussed the results of the Starmer’s visit to Kyiv last month. The President of Ukraine Zelensky informed Starmer about his plans for the Munich Security Conference.

Leaders agreed to maintain close contacts.

On February 12, US Secretary of Defense Pit Hegset told his European colleagues in Brussels that the restoration of the former borders of Ukraine is unrealistic, the country should abandon its desire to join the NATO alliance and American troops will not fulfill the functions of peacekeepers.
