Greenpeace reported on Monday that the organization’s activists did not allow the day before and continue to interfere with the arrival of the British Port of the Tanker with Russian diesel fuel, RIA Novosti reports.
“Greenpeace activists did not allow a tanker who transported 33 thousand tons of Russian diesel fuel, to moor in the essect. The cost of fuel is estimated at 30 million pounds,” the message says.
It is claimed that 12 Greenpeace volunteers, bypassing the guard, late on Sunday evening penetrated the pier of the Navigator terminal on the Thames and prevented the Andromeda tanker to moor and unload.
The organization reminded that earlier British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on Europe to stop buying Russian fossil fuel and called on all the ports of the UK to block the mooring of ships under the Russian flag. “But Russian fossil fuel still penetrates here, so we have taken measures,” the organization says.
According to the organization, on Monday morning, the police began the detention, but several activists are still in place, hindering the piercing of the tanker. The tanker is anchored near the coast near Margate. The organizations are monitored by Russian tankers, heading not only to the UK, but also to other countries.
