A group of orphans who were left without bed after undermining the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was delivered to Turkish Antalya.
The process of evacuation of children from Ukraine to Turkey has been continuing since March last year on the initiative of the leaders of Turkey and Ukraine and their spouse. Children and adolescents are placed in various cities of Turkey, including in Antalya.
, against the backdrop of floods caused by explosions at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the houses of residents of the Kherson region who took the patronage education of orphans also remained under the water.
A group of 36 people, including 23 orphans, delivered to Turkey through Moldova and placed in the hotels of the Manavgat in the Antalya district. The path took 2.5 days.
The coordinator of the “Childhood without War” project Yana Nakhornaya told Anadol that the evacuation of children from Ukraine to Turkey is ongoing. “Currently, in three Turkish hotels there are generally 700 children from Ukraine. Yesterday morning, another group arrived from the flood zone in Kherson,” she said.
According to her, volunteers and psychologists are engaged in rehabilitation of the arrivals.
“Children cannot overcome the fear of war and do not yet realize that they are safe. Their houses and lives are destroyed. They are in shock. There are also those who have been hiding in the forests for months. But now they are here. We are very happy because we have the opportunity to help, which is very important. We would like to thank the Turkish Republic for their support, ”Nakhornaya noted.
She said that in the near future, three more groups of citizens will arrive from Ukraine.
