The head coach of Karabakh, Gurban Gurbanov, held a press conference before the first match of the Round -off Champions Playoffs against the Czech Victoria. The game will take place tomorrow at the Republican Stadium named after Tofik Bahramov and will begin at 20:45.
“This is our last test before getting into the group stage,” says Gurbanov. “We held different matches against various rivals, each of which had its own style. Victoria is very different from other teams. I used to identify Czech football because of his game discipline. Victoria players clearly follow their instructions. They play athletic football, are physically well prepared. But we have already played against such teams. My guys should show more endurance – both in Baku and Plzen. I believe that they will succeed.
It feels that interest in the game is very great. Our task is to preserve the faith of the fans. We try to become even stronger. I am sure the fans will be satisfied with us.
Yes, we played with Victoria six years ago. They lost in the sum of two meetings. We had a lot of goal moments, but in the end we missed the last minutes and left the Champions League. Every year we are becoming more experienced, but we must study even more. Extensive experience comes precisely after such matches. The Champions League differs from other tournaments. Here the tension is much higher, since everyone wants to participate in the group round. We understand it perfectly. That is why responsibility is automatically increasing. We became more experienced that previous matches showed. It is already felt that we act more calmly.
from Victoria should be expected at any time. Their counterattacks and standards are very dangerous. For six matches, they scored 15 goals, and 7 of them were from standards. We will try to make them less likely to be in our half of the field.
Problem with tickets? I am glad that in Azerbaijan, interest in football has grown so much. He always said that we love football. We have fans, but you cannot offend them. Once in our hands there is a chance to develop football, we must use it to the maximum. From now on, they must build their work so that this love of football is preserved and people continue to go to the stadium. I applaud these fans for this manifestation of my faith, trust in us. Personally, I would like everyone to be able to come to the stadium. If 30,000 thousand from the stands are watching our game, then the same amount is observed on the streets, in restaurants, and even more from the house.
We apologize if there were any shortcomings from the club. But I assure you that the club does everything so that the fans are satisfied.
