The World Council of News Agencies (NACO) has met its members as part of preparation for the 7th World Congress of Information Agencies (NAWC), which will be held in November 2022 in Morocco.
Meeting chaired by the general director of the Moroccan Information Agency (MAP) Khalila Khachii Idrissi was aimed at studying organizational issues of the event that will be held for the first time in Africa. The theme of the 7th World Congress of Information Agencies was chosen “The Future of Information Agencies in the Postpandemic World”.
“There is no doubt that the pandemic had a deep influence on philosophy, approach and work of world news agencies. And we came to a number of conclusions, which are of great importance for the future, including digitization and globalization of information agencies,” said Idrissi.
Stressing that the evolution of the market forced information agencies to turn into global media, Hachi Idrissi said that the news agency now is a multifunctional, multi-vector and multi-part tool.
In turn, the Vice-President of the World Congress of Information Agencies and Departmentaries TASS Mikhail Gusman welcomed the choice of place for the 7th World Congress of Information Agencies. According to him, this demonstrates the confidence of the members of the Information Agencies Council in Morocco’s ability to successfully organize global-scale events.
