This year, the pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca performed 92.5 thousand Turkish citizens.
The head of the Directorate of Religion of Turkey Ali Erbash congratulated all the pilgrims who visited the shrines of Islam.
According to him, in 2023, Hajj made a record number of Turkish citizens over the past 20-30 years.
Erbash noted that the number of pilgrims from Turkey this year reached 92,500 people, while in 2022 this indicator was 37,770.
The head of the department also emphasized that the number of pilgrims from Turkey for Hajj never exceeded the mark of 80 thousand
According to Erbash, the return of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia will be produced in stages.
“In the days of Hajj, 25 Turkish citizens died. I wish you the rest of their souls, I express my condolences to my relatives and friends,” he added.
