Hakan Fidan met with head of Ministry of Defense Iraq

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with the Minister of Defense of Iraq Sabit Abbasi in Baghdad. This is stated in the message of the Turkish Foreign Ministry on the social network X (previously Twitter).

Hakan Fidan arrived on an official visit to Iraq on August 22.

As part of the visit, the head of Turkish diplomacy held negotiations with the President of Iraq Abdullatif, the decisive, Prime Minister Muhammed Shia al-Sudani, the speaker of the parliament Muhammad Halbushi, with his Iraqi colleague Foid Hussein and Foreign Minister Malaysia Zapdul Kadir.

Fidan’s meetings with the leaders of the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) and the Turkmen community of Iraq were also held.

In addition, the Foreign Minister of Turkey held consultations with the leaders of the leading political parties of the country- the alliance for the sovereignty Iraq Hamis Hanser, the Fath Bloc Hadi Amiri, the “National Wisdom movements” Sayid Ammar al-Hakim, the Coalition “Legal State”, the former prime minister Minister Nuri Al-Maliki and Chairman of Khashd Ashhabi Faliham al-Fayyad.

It is expected that Hakan Fidan will visit Erbil, where he will hold negotiations with representatives of the Kurdish regional administration of Iraq (AA).
