Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said, Turkey, the UAE, Iraq and Qatar, intensive negotiations are continuing regarding the project of development of the development of Turkey-Iraq.
The Turkish minister announced this at a joint press conference following negotiations with the UK Foreign Minister James Cleverly.
Fidan said that new trade routes are becoming more and more important against the background of the latest geopolitical events, including the Pandemia of Coronavirus, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the competition between the USA and China.
“These three events, along with new trade routes, also attracted attention to those (trade routes), which were discussed earlier in theory,” he said.
According to Fidan, trade routes are also one of the important tools in the context of geopolitical competition. As an example, Fidan noted the draft economic corridor of the India-School East-Europe, the agreement on which was signed at the G20 summit in New Delhi.

Cleverly also noted the growth of trade between Turkey and Great Britain.
