Hakan Fidan: Türkiye And Iraq Signed Historical Security Agreement

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, after the conference of the 4th meeting of the Turkish-Iraqi high-level security mechanism, spoke at a joint press conference with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Iraq Fuad Hussein in the Ministry.

Turkey and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation and cooperation in the field of security and combating terrorism, said Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Fidan emphasizing that Türkiye and Iraq are working in intensive mode to fulfill the will of the leaders of the two countries. According to him, Iraq’s awareness of the terrorist organization of the RSC has increased.

The Foreign Minister of Turkey noted that the memorandum of understanding in the field of military cooperation and security and the fight against terrorism, about which Turkey and Iraq were negotiating for some time, was signed by the ministers of the defense of the two countries and that it has historical significance.

Hakan Fidan believes that the cooperation between the countries, thanks to the joint coordination and training centers provided for by the agreement, will be brought to a new level. The politician said that it is advisable to reinforce the mutual understanding with Iraq to combat terrorism specific steps in this area.
