About half a million people in Europe can die from COVID-19, if they do not want to get hurt and continue to ignore precautions. This was stated by the head of the European Branch of the World Health Organization (WHO) Hans Kulia, RIA Novosti reports
According to him, at present, 75% of deaths are celebrated in people aged 65 years and older.
“If we stay on this trajectory, then by February 1, 2022 we will see additionally half a million deaths from COVID-19,” the clue suggested.
Head of the European Branch of WHO noted that it is possible to avoid such a scenario only in the case of the achievement of 95 percent population coverage with medical masks, as well as accelerate the rate of vaccination.
According to the data on the beginning of November, in Europe from the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic recorded more than 65 million cases of infection and more than 1,300,000 deaths.
