Vice-President of the Association of Exporters of the Black Sea Hall and Turkish Products Dursun Oguz Gyursa said that by the end of the season it is planned to export 320 thousand tons of hazelnuts, the export revenue of which will be approximately 2.5 billion dollars.
Gyursa told the correspondent “Anadol”.
The export season of the hazelnut 2024-2025 began on September 1, 2024, 7 months were left behind. The season will end on August 31.
noting that the export of the hazelnut exceeds the indicators of the last season, Gyursoy said that so far everything is folding positively for Turkish exporters of the hazelnut.
Referring to the export data of the hazelnut over the past five seasons, he shared the following information:
“In the 2019-2020 season, this figure amounted to 2 billion 312 million 45 thousand 738 dollars for 343 thousand 561 tons;
– 2 billion 10 million 787 thousand 689 dollars for 292 thousand 440 tons per season 2020-2021;
– 1 billion 986 million 44 thousand 569 dollars for 340 thousand 147 tons per season of 2021-2022;
– 1 billion 795 million 189 thousand 783 dollars for 298 thousand 557 tons in the season 2022-2023;
– 2 billion 349 million 117 thousand 725 dollars for 303 thousand 458 tons per season of 2023-2024. “
Gyursa noted that compared to the same period last season, export revenue in foreign currency increased by more than 200 million dollars. One of the factors of this growth was a decrease in hawthorn yields in competing countries.
noting that an increase in the export of hazelnuts will also affect reserves, the vice-president of the association added: “If the export rates continue in the same spirit, then the hassles of the hazelnut will not be postponed to the next season.”
Speaking about the targeted export of hazelnuts for 2024-2025, Dursun Oguz Gyursa noted:
“At such a pace, we plan to export 320 thousand tons of hazelnuts by the end of the season. In turn, we expect export revenue of $ 2.5 billion. Currently, for 7 months we have 200 million more dollars more than a trim of foreign currency compared to last year. If the export will continue at such a pace, we will easily reach a number of 2.5 billion dollars “.
– export of hazelnuts to North Africa countries
Gyursa said that export is carried out to China, Japan, Korea and Australia, as well as to the countries of the European Union.
noting that sales to Russia and Ukraine have decreased somewhat, he continued:
“We have a noticeable export of hazelnuts to North Africa countries. Compared to last season, there is a serious increase in hazelnut sales in these countries. Among them there are countries with 300 percent growth of the import of our products. This pleases local manufacturers.”
