Russia has already “strategically lost” the war with Ukraine, having suffered heavy losses and strengthening NATO, which Finland and Sweden want to join, said Tony Radakin, chief of staff of the British defense.
“This is a terrible mistake from Russia. Russia will never take control of Ukraine,” said a high -ranking officer whose words are quoted by the Russian BBC service.
According to Radakin, Russian President Vladimir Putin can achieve tactical successes in the coming weeks, but for this he already had to use about 25% of his army. Putin was able to win a tiny part of the territory at such a high price, while receiving 50 thousand people killed or wounded, Radakin added.
The head of the British Defense Headquarters assured once again that the UK will support Kyiv in the long term for the supply of a large number of weapons.
