Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamhani began his official visit to Yerevan. This is reported by Tasnim.
Upon arrival in Armenia, Shamhani told reporters that the current Iranian government advocates expanding and deepening relations with neighboring countries and the region as a whole.
He mentioned efforts to establish peace and stability and emphasized that Tehran supports the format of regional cooperation “3+3” and expressed the hope that negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will lead to a solid world.
The Secretary of the Higher Council of National Security of Iran also stated that Iran is opposed to any actions that “lead to changes in the geopolitics of the region.”
Recall that the “3+3” platform is an initiative about a six -way format of cooperation (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Iran) on Karabakh and the issue of unlocking economic and transport relations in the region. The initiators of this format were previously the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
