Minister of Defense of Germany Christine Lambrecht asked Chancellor Olaf Sholts to dismiss her from his position.
This was reported by the DPA agency with reference to the personal statement of the head of the Ministry of Defense.
Lambrecht noted that the attention of the media to her personality and the discussion of her actions in recent months pushed back to the background of the discussion about the needs of the Bundeswehr and the development of the army in the interests of citizens.
“In this regard, I decided to release my post,” she said.
Note that in recent months, Lambrecht has been criticized for the state of the material and technical base of the Armed Forces of Germany.
