The Minister of Defense of the PRC Lee Shanf, who has not appeared in public for some time, was removed from his post.
According to the CCTV state Chinese television, Lee was removed from his post in accordance with the decision adopted during the meeting of the Permanent Committee of the All -Children’s Assembly of People’s Representatives, the legislative body of China. At the same time, the name of the new head of the Ministry of Defense of China has not yet been announced.
The former minister last appeared in public on August 29, when the Chinese-African Forum on Peace and Security was held in Beijing.
An annual meeting of Sino-Vietnamese defense cooperation, at which the Chinese minister was to be present on September 7-8, was canceled due to “health problems.”
In addition, Lee Shanf became the only member of the Central Military Commission, who was not present at the meeting held on September 15th.
The ex -minister also did not appear at a solemn reception in honor of the main national holiday – the day of the formation of the PRC, which is celebrated on October 1.
