Head Of Ministry Of Defense Of Ukraine Informed Rutte About Development Of Ukrainian Defense Industry

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umarov said that before a meeting of the Council of Ukraine – NATO held negotiations with the General Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side confirmed the adherence to the strategic course to join NATO, emphasizing that this remains a security priority. According to the minister, the Ukrainian army today plays an important role in ensuring Euro -Atlantic security.

Umarov informed Rutte about the development of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and plans to strengthen the country’s military capabilities. He noted that Ukraine annually increases its contribution to the opposition of the Russian Federation, but the support of the Allies remains critical.

In addition, the parties discussed the need to strengthen the defense potential of NATO and European countries. The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense emphasized that threats in the field of security continue to grow, and consolidated and proactive interaction is necessary for effective response.
