Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shakhbazov held a number of meetings in the city of Fos-Do-Iguas as part of participation in energy events held as part of the Brazil chairmen in G20.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, Shakhbazov held meetings with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Fatich Birol and the General Director of the International Agency for Renewable Energy (Irena) Francesco La Caulu.
At a meeting with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatich Birol discussed the situation and prospects in the energy markets, as well as issues related to cooperation within COP29.
The important role of the “obligation to global storage of energy and networks” initiated by Azerbaijan was noted to fulfill the “global obligation to renewed energy and energy efficiency”.
It is emphasized that two obligations, including the “green” energy zone and corridor, follow from the experience of Azerbaijan in this area.
The upcoming events with the participation of the Agency, such as the “Round Table” at the ministerial level, dedicated to the announcement of energy initiatives of the agenda of the activities of COP29, which will be held on November 15, on the Energy Day, the expansion of investment in the triple of renewable sources and the doubling of energy efficiency, and the dynamic, dynamic ones were discussed. Destroying the oil and gas industry, the creation of infrastructure to achieve an energy transition, the triple of throughput in electrical systems and cooperation within this framework.
A exchange of views on the “4th high-level dialogue at the energy transition”, which will be chaired by the Minister of Energy and the Executive Director of the Agency, took place.
A proposal was also discussed and agreed on an event dedicated to the presentation of the Roadmate on Energy Efficiency for Azerbaijan, developed by IEA as part of the EU4energy program.
At a meeting with the General Director of the International Agency for Rumained Energy (Irena) Francesco La Camera, the main attention was paid to the events that will be held during COP29 together with the agency.
The issues of organizing the event “Transportation of the energy results of a consensus in the UAE – the beginning of the report” and the investment forum on the energy transition for Central Asia, which will be held during Pre -COP29 with the participation of Azerbaijan.
