Türkiye ranks third in the world for the production of solar panels. This was announced by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Fatih Donmes.
According to him, Turkey not only covers its own needs in the solar panels, but also exports products to Europe, to the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and even to America.
Despite the fact that renewable energy sources, such as wind, sun, water, water, and geothermal resources were in Turkey before, the technology for their use had to be imported from abroad, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy stated. “Today everything has changed. 75 percent of technologies for the production of solar energy, 60-65 percent of technologies for the production of energy from wind and 55 percent of technologies for the production of geothermal energy, Turkey is produced itself,” the minister said.
He recalled that two days earlier in Turkey the largest whole solar power plant in Europe was opened in Europe, and more than 3 million panels used in its construction were produced in the country itself. “Ankara has a large center for research and development. Solar panels are produced there. Turkey is already in third place in their production. In the first, in the second, in the second,” the minister explained.
Further, Donmes attracted attention to the significance of natural gas deposits in the Black Sea to reduce Turkey’s dependence on the import of this energy resource.
According to him, Turkey already largely carries out the production and exploration of gas using its own ships and technologies of its own production.
At the same time, 70 percent of the personnel involved in drilling ships is a citizen of Turkey. “Previously, experts worked from abroad. For a fairly high daily payment. Now there are less expenses for such operations, and work is faster,” the head of the department said.
Do not forget about the political struggle, the economic confrontation that Turkey entered on the path to energy dependence, he said.
“Everyone knows with which Ankara had to deal with the Eastern Mediterranean. Undoubtedly, one of the reasons why Turkey was able to resist political pressure is its own technologies,” Donmes added.
