The establishment of a durable world in the South Caucasus will open the Zangesur corridor, which will connect the Western regions of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchyansk Autonomous Republic (Azerbaijan) through the territory of Armenia.
This was said by the Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov during panel discussions on the theme “Medicip Corridor: restoration of ties between Europe and Asia”, held as part of the 57th annual meeting of the Asian development bank in Tbilisi.
“We are currently working on a number of new important regional projects. For the implementation of these projects, a strong world is needed. I think that the establishment of a durable world in the South Caucasus will allow one of these projects and open the Zangezur corridor,” he said.
The minister said that the middle corridor includes not only railway and automobile communication.
“He can be called an extensive corridor. Another branch of this corridor is a route from Azerbaijan to Georgia, and then through the Black Sea to Europe,” he said.
