President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held with the head of the NATO Military Committee, Giuseppe Kavo Dragon, who made his first foreign visit to this position in Kyiv.
According to the press service of the president’s office, the main topics of the meeting were preparations for the next meeting in the Ramstein format and the defense needs of Ukraine.
The President emphasized that one of the key tasks is to fulfill the agreements of the NATO Washington Summit to strengthen the Ukrainian Air Defense System.
“The Russian dictator does not want the end of the war, and only the strong positions of Ukraine and the pressure on Russia are able to force the aggressor to establish a fair and long -term world,” Zelensky said.
Particular attention was paid to the launch of the NSATU mission (“Safety help and training for Ukraine”). Zelensky expressed hope for the specific results of her work, in particular, on increasing coordination in the issue of providing military assistance.
The head of the NATO military committee, in turn, assured that the alliance is configured to fulfill all its obligations, since he considers Ukraine an integral part of the transatlantic security system.
“The message that I would like to transfer not only to you, but to everyone else, is that NATO is on your side. We firmly intend to fulfill all our obligations and protect the values and principles that we share,” said Dragon.
In addition, Zelensky and Kavo Dragon discussed the continuation of military assistance from NATO member countries and direct investment in Ukrainian production of long-range drones according to the Danish model.
