About this, the head of the region Nevchirvan Barzani said after the vote in the elections to the Parliament of the sixth convocation on Sunday, October 20.
Barzani said that, as part of a visit to Ankara, on October 16, he discussed with representatives of the Turkish authorities the issues of economic interaction and security cooperation, an exchange of views on topical issues of the regional agenda took place.
“A very good meeting with President Erdogan took place. We have a very good relationship with Turkey,” said the head of the region.
The politician expressed the hope that the elections will be held in an atmosphere of complete calm and the turnout will be high. After the elections, all political parties should make efforts to form a new government, Barzani said.
As part of the visit to Ankara, Barzani held negotiations with the Foreign Minister of Turkey Hakan Fidan and the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (Mi̇T) Ibrahim Kalyn. The head of the region was also adopted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
