Head of SVR of Russia: West is trying to undermine current systems of power of CIS countries

Attempts by the West to undermine the current systems of the CIS countries by inciting ethnosaparatist and xenophobic sentiments are alarming.

This was stated by the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin at a meeting of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with the leaders of delegations participating in the meeting of the heads of security and intelligence services of the CIS countries, BelTA reports.

“We are now in the recent attempts of the Western Bloc to undermine the existing systems of power in the space of the Commonwealth by inciting ethnosaparatist and xenophobic sentiments now,” the head of the SVR of Russia emphasized.

Naryshkin noted that the Belarusian power and society have repeatedly proved that pressure from the Euro -Atlantic Bloc should and could be opposed.

According to him, the current meeting in Minsk is devoted to the topic of expanding cooperation between security agencies and intelligence services “in order to block the western efforts to destabilize the situation” in the space of the Commonwealth.

“Belarus has repeatedly experienced undisguised aggression from the Western Bloc, led by the United States of America, which is probably hated by such an uncompromising course in Minsk to defend its interests, the interests of its state and citizens,” he said.

“The Belarusian power and society, each time with honor, withstand this onslaught and proved that it was necessary and to resist the pressure from the Euro -Atlantic Bloc,” said the head of the SVR of Russia.
