“The world has all the necessary tools for victory over the coronavirus pandemic, including medical, but these opportunities are not used properly,” said Tedros Adan Hebresus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tass reports.
Speaking on the World Health Summit held in Berlin, the head of WHO said that he was very often asked about when a pandemic is completed. “My answer: Pandemic will end when the world decides to complete it. This is in our hands,” said Greesus.
He recalled the goals announced earlier: vaccinating from coronavirus at least 40% of the population of each country by the end of 2021. This goal is achievable “only if the statements of countries and companies controlling vaccine supplies will correspond to their actions,” said Greesus.
Note that according to WHO on October 22, 242,348,657 cases of contamination of coronavirus were registered in the world, 4,927,732 people died.
