Heads Of Foreign Ministry Of Syria And Iraq Discussed Development Of Events In Syria

Foreign Minister Iraq Fuad Hussein and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria Bessos Sabbag discussed the development of events in Syria during a telephone conversation.

According to the written statement of the Iraq Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hussein expressed “solidarity with the Syria government in the fight against the opposition.”

“The deterioration of safety and stability in Syria poses a threat to the region. Iraq safety depends on the security of the region,” said Hussein.

According to him, regional cooperation is necessary in the fight against threats and extremism.

Iraq Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani also held a telephone conversation with Syria President Bashar al-Asada.

He stated that Syria’s safety and stability are part of the national security of Iraq.
