“Help exhausted nation”: leader of Taliban first stepped on air and asked world about help

One of the founders of the Taliban movement made his first television event from the date of the Taliban arrival in Afghanistan. Acting Prime Minister Afghanistan Mohammad Hassan Ahund asked for international assistance and access to funds in the amount of 10 billion dollars, as the country struggles with a threat of mass hunger, reports DW.

The representative of the Taliban called on international charitable organizations “not refuse to help”. He promised that the government will not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries on the eve of the meeting with the United States in Doha. “We are trying to solve as much problems as possible people. We work overtime in all departments,” said Ahund.

He laid the blame for hunger, unemployment and financial collapse in Afghanistan on the US Supported Government.

“We ask all international charitable organizations not to give up help and help our exhausted nation … so that the problems of the people could be solved,” said Hassan in his speech.

He also called on the United States to unlock about 10 billion dollars of Afghan foundations frozen after the Taliban in the middle of August came to power.

Ahund called hunger “Test from God after people rebelled against him.”
