Almost 900 thousand passengers have been in total for Azerbaijan’s international airports since the beginning of the year. This is almost twice as much as the same period of 2021. Haqqin.az reported this in the press service of the International Airport Heydar Aliyev.

In April 2022, 247.5 thousand people accounted for, of which 197 thousand were passengers who flew out of the capital’s airport or flew to it.

The basic air carriers of the Baku airport – AZAL and Buta Airways – transported 350 and 114 thousand passengers, respectively, which is in total 51% of the total share of the served passengers.

In April 2022, 23 foreign airlines made regular flights to the Baku airport. The reduction in the number of air carriers is associated with the suspension of flights by Russian airlines in Azerbaijan, the press service noted.

The ten most popular areas from Baku in April included Istanbul, Moscow, Dubai, Tbilisi, Minsk, Ankara, Izmir, Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi and Aktau.
