In Azerbaijan, on the basis of the documents signed by the President Ilham, from the beginning of this year, in the framework of the next package of reforms, raising pensions, benefits and scholarships were ensured, HAQQIN.AZ was told in the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
According to the department, since the beginning of the year in pension provision, covering 12% of the population, growth was recorded in two directions:
– the minimum pension is increased by 20 percent – from 200 to 240 manat, which made it possible to increase pensions of 40 thousand people;
– due to indexations of pensions in accordance with the growth of average monthly wages and the subsequent increase, the allocation of financial assistance to pensioners (200 manat) pensions in the current year increased by an average of 9%.
For this increase that covered 1.1 million pensioners, an additional 352 million manat will be spent from the state budget for 2022.
It is noted that from January 1, 2022, social benefits and some scholarships were increased. Monthly social benefits for disability, age, loss of the head of the family and others are increased by an average of 25%, and one-time benefits are 46%. Some scholarships are increased by an average of 32%, and students scholarship – by 20%.
Sustainable growth of social payments also touched up targeted social assistance.
From the beginning of this year, the criterion of the need in the calculation of targeted composure is increased from 170 to 200 manat. This made it possible to increase address assistance to families consisting of 250 thousand people.
The new stage of social reform also provides for new measures to support the participants of the war on the basis of president’s instructions.
These measures include a one-time payment of disabled people of the Karabakh war, which was injured in 1991-1997, and the assignment of military personnel who participated in hostilities for the territorial integrity of our country from September 27 to November 10, 2020, the title of “War Veteran” and appointments to them a monthly pension.
A total of a reform package that provides for the increase in wages, pensions and other social benefits in 2022, covers 3.4 million people, the Ministry reports.
