Head of Pentagon Lloyd Austin held a meeting with the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar on the fields of emergency meeting of NATO Defense Ministers in Brussels and discussed the situation with him around Ukraine, reports TASS.
As noted in the Pentagon, Austin and Akar discussed the situation around Ukraine, a single response of NATO, as well as strong bilateral relations in the field of defense.
“Minister Austin thanked Turkey for its contribution to NATO, for public statements by Turkey in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for the help of the people of Ukraine and efforts to mediate in achieving a peaceful decision of the crisis,” said the department.
