In the Tbilisi clinic of Amtel, the famous Armenian human rights activist Georgy Vanyan died. This was reported by Turan sources in Tbilisi and confirmed Vanyan’s colleagues in Armenia.
On October 9, Vanyan was hospitalized in serious condition. In recent years, Vanyan lived in the border village of Tsakhkanavan in the Tavush region, reminds the agency.
For many years Vanyan called on the compatriots to make up with Azerbaijanis and recognize Karabakh part of Azerbaijan. He also became the first Armenian, condemned the Khojaly genocide. For this reason, Vanyan was pursued, he was forced to leave Yerevan and stop his activities. For several years he earned a living by working as a taxi driver.
On October 9, Vanyan was hospitalized in one of the Tbilisi hospitals. The last 10 day he was in self-insulation in the Georgian capital, since he was diagnosed with coronavirus. As the Georgian media reported, both lungs were amazed at Vanyan, and he had chronic pneumonia.
