The US President Donald Trump’s presidential administration fired hundreds of employees of the National Ocean and Atmospheric Research Office (Noaa) as part of initiatives to reduce expenses for the bloated state of federal employees.
According to CNN, about 800 federal employees who worked in Noaa for less than a year and were on a trial period were dismissed.
“The Office no longer considers your candidacy for the previous position, since your skills, knowledge and abilities do not meet the current needs,” the official note sent to the dismissed employee says.
Meanwhile, a number of federal employees dismissed from the National Meteorological Service (NWS) under Noaa reacted to the situation on social networks. Employees who were on the probationary period promised to initiate trials in connection with dismissal.
Earlier, on February 14, the US Service Management Department ordered to dismiss federal civil servants who have been on a probationary period, and then those who have worked for less than a year.
