Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban assured the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in support from Budapest, the press service of the president’s office.
During a meeting with Zelensky in Kyiv, the head of the Hungarian government called the goal of his visit to the resolution of bilateral relations and noted the desire of Hungary to establish them and sign a bilateral agreement in the future.
“He also expressed hope for resolving the issues of the Hungarian national minority and noted all the initiatives of the President of Ukraine to achieve peace. The Prime Minister thanked Vladimir Zelensky for his outright position and assured him of support from Hungary,” the press service said in a statement .
Orban said that Hungary during the chairmanship in the EU North will help Ukraine in everything that can.
Vladimir Zelensky, in turn, thanked Hungary for the support of Ukrainians and humanitarian assistance to the country. He also noted the participation of this state in the first summit of the world and the support of the final communique.
“We subjectly discussed how in the future Hungary can show its leadership in the preparation of the second summit of the world. We see the opportunity to organize the second summit of the world this year, we would very much want this, and we can do all the preparatory work for this in the nearest months, ”the head of state emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed cooperation at the EU level and expectations from the Hungarian chairmanship.
Special attention, according to the press service, was paid to the most fundamental topics of neighboring relations: trade, cross-border cooperation, infrastructure and energy issues. In particular, the leaders agreed on the opening of the first Ukrainian school in Hungary.
