Hungary blocked the 7th tranche of the help of the European Union (EU) to Ukraine. It is reported by RMF FM with reference to a senior European diplomat.
According to him, the European Fund of the World (EPF) was supposed to allocate about half a billion euro for these purposes.
On Monday, a meeting of foreign ministers will be held, at which they can put pressure on Budapest, RMF notes. The European Union has a backup plan, as in the case when Hungary blocked 18 billion euros of macrofinance assistance to Ukraine in early December. Then the EU wanted to adopt a legal act that would allow help to bypass Hungary, as a result, the country lost, and the help package was adopted.
