Hungary did not change its position on the oil embargo against Russia and insists that it is not ready to support it despite the difficult negotiations and concessions proposed to it in recent days. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Siyyarto, reports hvg.hu.
“Hungary will not vote for the initiative of the European Commission for sanctions against Russia, since it creates a problem for Hungary and does not contain a proposal to solve it,” Siyyarto said.
He repeated the words of Prime Minister Viktor Orban that the proposal of the European Commission is like an atomic bomb for the Hungarian economy and destroy its stable energy supply.
Siyyarto added that the country’s geographical position, transport routes, location and availability of oil and gas deposits determine the safety of energy supply of Hungary.
