At the same time, the IGB gas pipeline construction delay is not the only Bulgarian problem associated with Azerbaijani gas. Previously, the State Company “Bulgargaz”, acting as a contract with Azerbaijan, stated that the commercial secrets of the gas supply contract in the amount of one billion cubic meters were disclosed by persons serving the interests of the Russian Gazprom.
In his interview with the local media, President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the issue of the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. The head of state stated that the leak of information on the contract with Bulgaria did not occur with the Azerbaijani side.
“This leakage occurred not from us, but from Bulgaria. The essence of the question is understandable. There is a great need for Azerbaijani Gaza. Azerbaijan has been in the role of a reliable oil supplier, as well as a gas supplier. They have a great interest in our transport opportunities.” , – said the head of state.
In the course of an interview with Ilham Aliyev, also noted that winter in Europe just begins and is expected to be very harsh.
“Therefore, the lack of gas will lead to great consequences. The volumes of Azerbaijani gas are not so great, but for several countries it can become decisive, and, of course, in the first place, our interests are taken into account. Because if this belt was not laid here. We would sit on rich gas reserves and waited for something. If it were not for this prospect, no company would have invested billions, tens of billions of dollars in the development of these deposits. Of them, more than 8 billion will be exported to Turkey, more than 7 billion in Italy. The remaining gas will be divided between Georgia, Bulgaria.
