Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan Will Continue To Help Ukraine

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on the occasion of the Independence Day of this country. The text of the letter is published on the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan and Ukraine associate friendly relations with rich traditions. The will of our peoples, which historically supported each other, today forms the basis of our interstate relations,” the message says.

The Head of State noted that the current level of mutual trust and support of relations between the two countries, their effective cooperation in a number of regions, in particular in the energy sector, cause satisfaction.

“Azerbaijan and Ukraine demonstrate mutual support and solidarity in matters of territorial integrity and sovereignty in accordance with the UN Charter, norms and principles of international law. We express our intention to further make all efforts to provide the necessary humanitarian support and assistance to the friendly people of Ukraine,” – indicated Aliyev.

The President of Azerbaijan praised the recent meeting with Zelensky in the UK and the exchange of views. “I am sure that we will continue to successfully continue joint efforts to strengthen Azerbaijani-Ukrainian friendship and reliable partnership, expand our cooperation,” added the Azerbaijani leader.
