Azerbaijan in 2021 exported 22 billion cubic meters of gas, in 2022 the volume of supplies will be 24 billion cubic meters. This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev at the opening of the Baku energy week.
“last year, Azerbaijan exported 22 billion cubic meters of gas. This year it is expected that these volumes are probably reached 24 billion cubic meters,” Ilham Aliyev said.
The head of state noted that the gas potential of Azerbaijan is not limited only to the Shah-Deniz deposit.
“We have other very promising deposits. Next year we will begin the operation of some of them and this will be an important contribution to energy security. Especially when the demand for hydrocarbons from Azerbaijan is large than ever,” Aliyev said.
The president emphasized that Azerbaijan, as a responsible country, takes into account this and tries to support countries that, for various reasons, are faced with difficulties.
“Currently, the corresponding structures of Azerbaijan are in constant contact with the growing number of such countries,” the president said.
