“in the territory of Karabakh, where Armenians now live, came into a malfunction of the gas pipeline, and for some time there was no gas. The whole world raised the voice that Azerbaijan arranged a humanitarian catastrophe there. But for 15 years they were deprived of Nakhchivan Gaza. Winter in Nakhchivan is still harsh, frosts reach 30 degrees below zero. From 1990 to 2005, Nakhchivans lived without gas. Who left them without gas? Armenians, the leadership of Armenia, the state of Armenia. This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on April 12 at a meeting dedicated to the results of the first quarter of this year.
“At least one person, the organization or state elevated their vote then? No, they were indifferent! But when there was no gas in Hankendi, there was no man left, who would not call us – from America to Europe. First, In Europe itself, there are countries in which there is no gas. Simply not carried out gasification. There are countries where the level of gasification barely reaches 3-5%. Is the humanitarian catastrophe reary there? Armenians have been left without gas and what, a humanitarian catastrophe immediately occurred? Then why the life of Nakhchivan for 15 years without gas was not considered a humanitarian catastrophe? There is an answer to this question? There is – discrimination and double standards!
We restored gas supply, and Armenians must appreciate it. We just showed a good intention. If they were not wanted, the gas supply did not restore. Who would we say and what? Have we had to restore gas supply? Not! But we restored and hope that they will understand that citizens of Azerbaijan, must and will live under the Azerbaijani flag. The sooner they understand it, the better for them. We showed humanism. But we will not forget, how Nakhchivan remained without gas. In 2005, on the basis of an agreement with Iran, we conducted gas from Iran to Nakhchivan. Passed the gas line in Iranian Astara and carry out swap operations. Since then, Nakhchivan is provided by gas in this way, “said the President.
