President of Romania Claus Johannis called President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today, the press service of the President of Azerbaijan reports.
According to the report, during a telephone conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, the export issues of natural gas and electricity from Azerbaijan in the context of providing energy security of Romania and the diversification of power supply.
There was also an exchange of views on the expansion of bilateral relations. It was emphasized that this year the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and Azerbaijan was celebrated, during which bilateral relations developed on the basis of a strategic partnership.
During the telephone conversation, the heads of state exchanged views on regional and international issues representing mutual interest.
