Ilham Aliyev: Plans Of Some Western States Are Obvious To Set Up Armenia Against Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the plans of some Western states are completely obvious to set up Armenia against Azerbaijan.

“We are fixed on the conditional border, because any provocation can be expected from Armenia at any moment. The Armenian side is massively armed, at the same time conducts military exercises with foreign countries, and large powers. Western countries supply weapons and ammunition to Armenia “, – said the head of state at the first meeting of the Milli Majlis of the VII convocation.

“That is, the plans of some Western states are quite obvious to set up Armenia against us,” the head of state said, emphasizing that they, of course, are not interested in the Armenian people.

“For them, the Armenian people are just an instrument, a means to keep Azerbaijan under constant pressure using the territory of Armenia, to create threat sources for Azerbaijan and other neighbors of Armenia, and thus provide their own interests,” the president added .

According to Aliyev, for the period that passed after the Second Karabakh war, Azerbaijan has largely increased its military power.

He noted that new armed formations were created, several times increased the number of special forces.

“The combat effectiveness of our army is growing, equipping it with the equipment is ensured and will be provided at the proper level. Armenia and any country standing behind it should know that it will not be possible to speak with the language of blackmail and ultimatum. We are ready, able to give any answer and always They must be prepared for this, ”the leader emphasized.

Aliyev said that revanchist forces were raising his head in Armenia. These are not only marginal political elements, and today’s authorities of Armenia live in the same thoughts and dreams, he added.

The head of state emphasized that they do not want to come to terms with the results of the Second Karabakh war and the anti -terrorist operation.

“Although they say this in words, their deeds, politics, steps create an absolutely opposite picture. This is also evidenced by the formal preservation to this day of the Minsk group, which does not bear any functional significance,” he said.
