President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Monday, April 25, adopted a delegation led by the Governor of the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin, the press service of the head of state.
During the meeting, the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in various spheres was emphasized.
Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan over the years has been fruitful cooperation with individual subjects of Russia, including the Astrakhan region.
During the conversation, there was also an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region in trade and economic, transport, transit, shipbuilding, port spheres. It was noted that the Astrakhan Business Center operates in Baku, and in Astrakhan – Azerbaijani Business Center, built with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
At the meeting, issues of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere were raised, important projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Astrakhan region were discussed. It was emphasized that the School named after the Heydar Aliyev, operating in Astrakhan for more than 10 years, contributes to the development of bilateral relations in the humanitarian sphere, and also expressed confidence that the visit of Igor Babushkin will contribute to the further expansion of bilateral cooperation.
